Intellegym Discover Science Summer Camp

Discovery is at the heart of our Science Camp. The 4-week, 20-hour Discover Science Camp is designed to pique students' spirit of inquiry and help them to find a passion for science as a means of discovery and furthering their own understanding of the world. The program comprises modules on biology, chemistry, and computer science, each of which ends in a hands-on lab.

Science Camp Program Structure

There are three modules in the 4-week camp, along with a final capstone. The first three modules are focused on biology, chemistry, and computer science, respectively. The final module ties together all three modules into a capstone project.

Biology Module

The biology module introduces basic topics related to cells, genetics, energy, and ecology.

Chemistry Module

The chemistry module introduces topics such as the states of matter, inorganic chemical reactions, atomic structure, elements, and solutions. Past lab projects have involved making “superbubbles” in class!

Computer Science Module

The computer science module covers topics such as the basics of binary, simple algorithms, sorting, and hardware basics. Labs generally involve a project built on Arduino.

Capstone Lab

The capstone unit will integrate insights from all three previous modules, allowing students to really apply and demonstrate their knowledge .
